PALAIS DU PRINCE

The Prince’s Palace in Monaco is a private residence, but the State Apartments are open to visitors for part of the year.
The Palace has a long history and has been extended and renovated several times over the centuries. Its origins date back to the early thirteenth century. Following a succession of transformations, the ancient Genoese fortress became one of the most luxurious residences of the seventeenth century, in a style extremely characteristic of the Louis XIV era.

Built on the side of Monaco’s legendary Rocher, the Oceanographic Museum founded Prince Albert I has been watching over the oceans for more than a century. The Museum is renowned throughout the world for its expertise and has more than 6,000 specimens on display.
From the flourishes on the façades to the décor in the halls, every aspect of the Museum’s architecture evokes the marine world. Since it was opened, this Temple of the Sea, has been an international benchmark for loving, protecting and raising awareness of the oceans.

Monaco Harbor stretches almost the entire length of the principality and includes some of the most impressive landmarks that the small country offers.
The harbor is split into two quays, separated by Monaco-Ville where the palace and oceanographic museum rise from a rocky outcrop. Fontvieille Harbor, to the south, is smaller but features the majority of the museums. Find Port Hercule, which is full of stylish yachts, to the north near Casino Square and several quality restaurants.

La Condamine Market is open every day, all year round, accommodating twenty or so traders within its confines. There are also numerous market gardeners, florists and small local producers on Place du Marché. It is a Southern market. Characterized by soft, warm shades of the market hall and terracotta paving scattered with small ceramic tiles graced with Provençal motifs.
There are three zones within the market. Each offers an area equipped with colourful metal furniture, cosy lighting, where you can tuck into produce purchased on site.
